What is a UVC light?
- UVC refers to a specific ultraviolet wavelength, between 200 and 300 nanometers, and is proven to be harmful to microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses.
How does UVC light technology work?
- UVC light uses short wavelength ultraviolet radiation to inactivate microorganisms by damaging their DNA structures. Microorganisms with damaged DNA cannot perform any vital cellular functions nor reproduce.
How is UVC light being used in everyday applications?
- UVC light technology is most commonly seen in the form of a lamp to disinfect non-porous surfaces, air, and water.
